At Heisman Lawn Care we believe that expert tree & shrub trimming often goes overlooked. But a well-groomed landscape will greatly enhance the overall health and appearance of your property while increasing its value.

As tree trimming experts we evaluate each unique situation and create a plan. We pay close attention to strategically trimming tree branches back so you can rest easy with healthy, safe and beautiful trees year around.

When you see beautiful trees that appear to be perfectly groomed, it’s likely that this look did not develop entirely naturally. You are probably seeing the results of good tree trimming. This, along with tree pruning, is one of the most common forms of tree maintenance, and it’s no wonder why. Strategically shaping a plant can create a beautiful appearance and improve its health by eliminating dead branches.

Shearing removes a portion of new growth and produces an artificial shape that usually resembles a sphere, oval, cube or rectangle rather than the natural form of the plant. Shearing produces a formal appearance with a dense outer shell of foliage with little growth on interior portions of the crown. Because only a portion of the new growth is removed, the plant continues to grow larger each year and eventually it can out-grow its space.

Pruning removes older growth as well as new shoots. Because cuts are made deeper into the crown, the plant has a "looser" informal and natural appearance that can be maintained according to the plant species or variety. Because pruning removes some older branches, a specific size can be maintained for the space allotted for them.

Shearing is appropriate for formal gardens and for hedges. However for individual plants pruning is the better technique to sustain plant health and appearance over time.

If you have a professional landscape design with trees or a pattern or set of shrubs and bushes, we have the experience and skill to maintain the artistic shape of the different trees and shrubs on your property. Contact us today for your tree & shrub trimming needs.
